The Dominican Republic is a destination for tourists seeking beautiful beaches and high-end shopping. It can be hard to believe that only minutes from luxury resorts live families who can’t afford medicine for their children or homes safe from flooding when it rains.
Recently, journalist Kelly Wright traveled to this nation of contrasts and witnessed the powerful heartbreak of poverty — and the much more powerful hope of Christ. He met the pastors, Compassion center workers, teachers and volunteers who work tirelessly each day empowering children to escape the trap of poverty and despair.
"The light shining forth from the hearts and minds of the pastors, the volunteers, those frontline workers … working with those children is a transformation that is unbelievable. Which is why you’ve got to see it to believe it."
Follow Kelly as he witnesses the transformative power of Jesus Christ in the Dominican Republic.
