At Compassion, we choose children for sponsorship based on their need and how much they can benefit from our program. We partner with local churches to choose the most vulnerable children within their communities based on family income, education access and living conditions, among other factors.

You can choose a child from a specific country or region we serve by using these search filters. We partner with local churches in over 29 countries across Africa, Asia, Central America and the Caribbean and South America.
When reviewing a child’s profile, you’ll find the child’s name, age, gender, country of origin, family background, photo and interests. You can also read about the child’s living conditions, personal circumstances and educational goals.
Yes! Writing to a child is a powerful part of child sponsorship. You’ll have a one-to-one connection with the child you sponsor and will be able to encourage them through personal messages.
