Justine’s mother was living a nightmare.
She couldn’t provide for her family. Her husband was violent, and when he finally left, she didn’t have enough money to feed her daughter.
The threat of hunger always loomed over their home.
“Due to a lack of food, my mother took me to a family friend, and I would stay there so that I would never die of hunger,” Justine remembers.
Her mother confided in their local pastor, and he immediately stepped in to help. Justine was registered at the Compassion program and was enrolled in school. She developed a community. And most importantly, she heard the gospel.
