Compassion has been forced to close our program in India after nearly 50 years. Join us in praying for the children, families and churches who have lost our support.
India’s natural beauty is a sharp contrast to the ugly diseases like HIV that are ravaging millions. Although fewer Indian children are infected with HIV each year, 5.7 million people in India are living with HIV or AIDS. That is the third-largest HIV epidemic in the world. In one year, an estimated 68,000 people in India will die from AIDS-related illnesses.
Thank God that fewer Indian children are infected with HIV each year, but pray for increased access to antiretroviral therapy, which extends and improves life for people with HIV and AIDS.
Pray that God will provide support and health care for the estimated 2.2 million children who suffer from HIV.
Ask God to work through teachers and governments to educate populations, especially youths, about HIV prevention.
