Lorie joined the Church Partnership team in 2010. As an adjunct professor, former KidMin leader, published author and speaker, she rounds out our team with a rich mix of programmatic knowledge, creativity and a passion to raise global kids. Lorie introduces U.S. churches to Compassion’s hands-on learning experiences and offers coaching and encouragement to church leaders as they enhance their church’s focus on global missions. Lorie and her husband, Scott, live in Colorado with their son, Maddox.

Born in the Philippines, Doug is truly a world citizen having lived in Guam, Japan, Mexico, and Kenya. Since 2001 Doug has embraced the vibrancy and diversity of cultures at Compassion but his heart’s cry is to see children stand with dignity even though they are devalued and marginalized. Doug serves on the Church Partnership team in the southeast region coaching pastors, church staff and/or child advocates who want to speak up for children in need. Doug and his wife, Sarah, have three sons and live near Greensboro, NC.

Rick has been serving Compassion partners for 15 years following an eight-year stint as a volunteer with the ministry. Rick and his wife Tonia are in the empty-nest stage of life—they have two adult sons—and continue to serve in youth ministry in their small community in southern Ohio. Rick enjoys reading, visiting history-rich places and watching college football.

After earning her PhD at Baylor University, Amanda joined the Compassion family in 2008 to work with churches and volunteers. She continues to be inspired by the spirit of volunteerism--especially when fueled by faith to speak up for vulnerable children. As a member of the Church Partnership team, Amanda equips U.S. Pastors and lay leaders in the east central states to advocate for the poor. She and her husband, Steven, have three children and live in the Nashville area.

Amy has been serving Compassion partners for 14 years. She and her husband, Michael, live in Golden, Colorado. Amy enjoys playing tennis, leading a women’s small group Bible study at her church, and hiking and camping in the Colorado Rockies.

Kristin has been serving Compassion for 11 years and believes in the power of the small church and building partnerships to advance His mission. Kristin lives in Colorado where she enjoys serving in her local church/community, and adventuring in the mountains.

Being adopted from China, Tim is passionate about serving impoverished children and sharing the gospel with the next generation. Having served at a church vocationally, Tim has an understanding and heart to come alongside pastors and encourage them in ministry!

Mackenzie is a recent graduate, from Evangel University, who is passionate about nonprofit ministry. She started with Compassion as an intern in 2022 and has continued serving small churches and church advocates in a full-time capacity. She lives in Colorado with her husband and dog where she enjoys spending time in the mountains and having game nights with friends.
