Compassion International values the support of its donors, who give generously to help children in need. Unfortunately, criminals sometimes prey on that generosity.
We want to protect our supporters and vendors from such scams. Before you provide any information online, be sure you know it’s Compassion. Here are some tips you can use to protect yourself:
- The website for Compassion in the United States is compassion.com. We have taken every step to ensure the private information of our donors.
- If you have any doubt, type www.compassion.com directly into your browser.
- If you have any questions, please contact us here.
In addition, below is some information regarding recent scams that we have been aware of using Compassion’s name:
- June 2024 - We have received reports of an unidentified individual(s) posing as a "Dr. Lucas Nilsson" representing Compassion International and offering a "work from home" job opportunity. This is a typical "work from home" scam, wherein the subject sends an email to the victim(s) offering them an opportunity to earn income by assisting the subject through purchasing and shipping items. Payment to the potential victim(s) is sent in the form of a check and the victim is instructed to keep a portion of the total as their wages while purchasing items to be sent to an address at a later date. Compassion International has no affiliation with Dr. Lucas Nilsson or any other individual(s) operating this type of "work from home" opportunity.
