A Life Changed

A group of tutors and staff from the Compassion center helped Carlos understand that his life did have meaning.

My life has changed only because someone believed that they could make a difference. That they could release a child from poverty.

Gil, a father of five, fell into despair and even contemplated taking his life after a devastating carpentry accident.

From a very early age, Pamela was inspired by her tutors at the Compassion center. Now, as a teacher, she fills her classroom with that same love and patience she once received from the dedicated staff who helped her find a path out of poverty.

Oscar’s life was spiraling out of control. As a young child he was told by neighbors in his gang-run community that he would be nothing more than a drug addict and a thief. But his Compassion sponsor and the staff at his center sent him a different message — one of HOPE for a different kind of life!

Driven to empower children, Meskerem finished college and returned to the Compassion center she attended as a sponsored child — this time employed as a social worker.
