Growing up in poverty means going without many things. For parents who struggle to put food on the table, toys for their children is an unaffordable luxury. But kids like Jean Paul in Rwanda are resourceful, and they can turn all kinds of ordinary things into fun toys. Jean Paul says, “My favorite toy is an old motorcycle tire that I enjoy rolling around with a stick. I usually compete with my friends to see who can make it go the fastest.”
