Week 45 - Beyond Keeping in Touch
Correspondence between sponsors and their sponsored children is a key component of the Compassion program. That’s because sponsorship is more than financial support for a child in need. It’s an opportunity to cheer that child on in their journey out of poverty. For children like Noreen, shown here drafting a letter to her sponsor, the words of encouragement she receives from her sponsor’s letters are crucial. Sam, the director of Noreen’s Compassion center in Kenya, says, "Through letters, lives have changed, behaviors improved and perceptions transformed. When you say in a letter ‘I am praying for you,’ that is hope to a child."
Here are some creative ideas for encouraging a child in another country through letters. >
