Vice President of Finance & Global Controller
Jill Skordinski joined Compassion as vice president in August of 2023. She spent the last 25 years in financial leadership positions in the financial services, manufacturing and consumer goods industries — for organizations such as Steelcase, HarperCollins, Guggenheim Partners and Corelle Brands. She began her career as a certified public accountant in the assurance practices of Coopers & Lybrand and PwC, and most recently was the corporate controller for Gibson Brands, Inc. In her role with Gibson, she oversaw the organization’s tax, treasury and accounting solutions teams.
Now leading Compassion’s global accounting team, Jill is passionate about building and engaging thriving teams to accomplish goals. She specializes in standardizing processes and applying industry-leading technology platforms to optimize her team’s work. Her valuable expertise will continue to help Compassion release more children from poverty in Jesus’ name.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Jill was 6 years old when she and her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where she grew up. After graduating from Arizona State University and working in public and corporate accounting, God prompted Jill to move to Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked for The National Christian Foundation. At an early age, Jill answered the Lord’s calling to share Jesus with children. From being a student missionary to leading vacation Bible school programs for underprivileged children, Jill has felt a renewed calling to share the hope of the gospel with young people — including in her work at Compassion.
Jill lives in Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband and three sons. Together, they enjoy traveling and attending baseball games, college bowl games and Christian concerts as a family.
