Jay Cho

Jay Cho, loving son, brother and uncle passed away in his home in Santa Clara, CA on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the age of 46.

Jay was born in Seoul, South Korea on September 16, 1974 and immigrated to the US at the age of 4 with his parents, Kwa Hoon and Soon Duck Cho, and his two sisters, Kelly and Caroline. He grew up in Maryland and attended Boston University. With his characteristic tenacity and drive, he built a successful career in the technology sector where he spent the last 16 years of his career with the IBM family. He was a highly valued member of the team where his leadership and contribution to many successful customer solutions help drive tremendous growth and success for the business. Jay was known for his hard work and dependability, often travelling all over the world for assignments. He will be remembered for his friendly attitude and willingness to always lend a hand to others. He loved his family and would do anything for them – and he especially had a soft spot in his heart for his nephews who had often ambushed him for piggyback rides when they were young.

Jay is survived by his parents, Kwa Hoon and Soon Duck, sister Kelly (husband James, children Justin, Sean, and Ryan), and sister Caroline (husband Andrew, son Adam).

His passing is a profound loss to his family and friends. May he rest in peace in the eternal loving arms of the Lord who formed him. Given his love for his nephews, and the fact that he didn’t have children of his own, the family would very much appreciate any contribution in his name to Compassion’s Highly Vulnerable Children Ministry.
