Compassion Responders donations are used to address disasters and crises in communities where we have local church partners. Your gifted funds are provided to local church partners, enabling them to locally purchase essential supplies and materials, such as food, water and hygiene kits, to distribute to affected children and families in our program. If needed, local church partners will also source temporary shelter or home repair services.

Food kits will vary by country, but all will include nutritious essentials like rice, eggs, milk and cooking oil and may also include chicken, vegetables and vitamins.

Church partners purchase food supplies locally to sustain local economies. If local markets are not feasible, national offices work to find the best and closest source for necessary items. By purchasing food locally, we also ensure we deliver the kinds of food our participants would normally eat.

Compassion Responders is a gift that will help Compassion prepare for new disasters even after the global food crisis subsides. Our network of Compassion Responders empowers local church partners to respond to any crisis or disaster at a local level, no matter how big or small.
