ASIA
Before the pandemic, poverty had been declining in Asia for the past 20 years. But since the pandemic, this has stopped. The World Bank has warned that up to 38 million more people could now fall below the poverty line, including 33 million people who would have escaped poverty if the COVID-19 pandemic hadn’t happened.
See below for more information on how Compassion is working in Asia to minister to children and their families as they walk the long road of recovery and rebuilding.
Please note that at this point in time, delays in letters or gifts may be due to other region-specific issues rather than COVID-19. If you sponsor a child in one of these regions, rest assured that we will send you any important updates regarding your sponsored child.
