With a passion for community health, service, and sharing God’s love in tangible ways, Miriam Reppond is thriving in her current role as a first-time mom and an army soldier in California. Born and raised in Cochabamba, Bolivia, Miriam’s young life was not easy, especially after her father passed away when she was 8 years old. For that reason, Miriam’s mom Mercedes raised her 5 children on her own. By the Grace of God, she was sponsored to participate in Compassion’s Child Development Program at a nearby church, Miriam’s life was radically impacted by the love of God. Her heart beats to share that same transformational love with others in need.
After graduating high school, Miriam was selected for the Compassion Leadership Development Program, which made it possible for her to receive her bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from the Higher University of San Simón (Universidad Mayor de San Simón) in Bolivia. She worked with the most vulnerable in the countryside (mothers and children) as a Community Nutritionist in Torotoro-Potosi for two years. Her passion is to see children and mothers well nourished! She is currently using Nutrition as a core lifestyle both for herself and her friends! Nutrition helped her to transform her perspective in food and to live a healthy lifestyle.
With a passion for learning languages. Miriam arrived in the United States through an exchange program called “Au Pair” and more doors were opened to her. She enrolled in a Community College and learned English. With a passion to serve her new community currently she is pursuing Automated Logistical Specialist with the Army National Guard!
