Many girls in poverty face discrimination and abuse. But as a girl born with disabilities that left her unable to walk, Dorothy faced the added risks of abandonment and exploitation. When Dorothy was 7, her mother, Rebecca, registered her at their local Compassion center. Staff went into action, ensuring Dorothy got both medical care to walk and encouragement to dream big. Because of the support of friends like you, Dorothy excels in her sewing classes and dreams of being a fashion designer.
“I am proud of Dorothy. The fact that she has been able to overcome to the point where she can make clothes makes me so proud,” says Rebecca.
Thank you for helping girls at risk like Dorothy survive and thrive.
