Due to the soaring price of food, families in Dera, Ethiopia, struggle to feed their children. As a result, many students went to school without food, sitting alone while others enjoyed their lunches. Some children even began missing school. However, because of your support, Compassion volunteers now prepare lunchboxes for more than 100 children to take to school.

“A heavy burden lifted off my shoulders,” says Birtukan, whose granddaughter, Yesen, attends the center. “The lunch the center packs for Yesen builds her self-esteem as she takes her lunchbox to her class to eat with her friends. The center proved that they cared.”
