Esmerelda was registered into Compassion's program when she was 9 years old and graduated at the age of 18. This year, she turned 31 and celebrates a successful career as a middle school math teacher. She also spends her time volunteering at the Compassion center and running a small business.
Esmerelda is just one testimony of the impact that supporters have on the life of a child in poverty. Because of advocates like you, Esmerelda can say with confidence, "I have been able to achieve many dreams!"
In 2020, there were 241 million cases of malaria worldwide and an estimated 627,000 people killed by this disease. Israel, a 7-year-old boy who lives with his mother and four sisters in Rwanda, was almost one of them.
But as of 2022, Israel has been malaria-free for six months thanks to the insecticide-treated net his local Compassion center gave him! His experience shows that a Rwanda freed from malaria is possible.
Because of the faithful partnership of supporters like you, we are celebrating the opening of a brand new Compassion center in northern Peru! The church volunteers registered 150 new children including 6-year-old Khalessi. The program's arrival has brought joy and hope to her entire family and many more families in this small community!
“I'm going to learn about God and that makes me happy,” Khalessi says, when asked why she is excited about being in the program. This was just one of the many new Compassion centers that were able to open their doors for the first time in 2022 thanks to your prayer and support.
With your support, more than...
Meet the men and women who are making a difference.
Through the challenges of the past year, your partnership with Compassion has provided hope for all sponsored children living in Bolivia.
For as long as the global food crisis looms, Compassion is committed to serving the most vulnerable.
The world is facing the most severe food shortage in 70 years, and children are the most affected. Kids who don't have enough to eat grow progressively weaker and suffer stunting, robbing them of opportunities for the future. But Compassion is committed to strategically fighting hunger.
Our Frontline Church Partners are delivering immediate relief through emergency food packs for children and families in need.
They're also providing sustainable solutions to hunger by training caregivers in agriculture and animal husbandry.
We're dedicated to providing immediate relief and sustainable solutions
Compassion's total revenues grew 4.6% over the past year. Compassion supporters helped us grow to serve nearly 2.3 million children across more than 8,200 Frontline Church Partners (as of June 2022).
The two biggest ways you can help increase your impact are by sponsoring a child or by donating to our mission.
