This year at Lifeway Women’s events, we want to give you the opportunity to be the light for a young girl living in poverty, through our ministry partner, Compassion International. Compassion International is the world’s leading authority on holistic child development through child sponsorship.
For more than 70 years, Compassion has empowered children to reach their full, God-given potential. Compassion advocates for children, working to release them from the shackles of poverty. Through a holistic approach to child development, Compassion carefully blends physical, social, economic and spiritual care … in Jesus' name. This approach has been proven effective through rigorous, independent research.
In addition, everything Compassion does for children is done in partnership with the local church in the child’s community.
When you sponsor a child for $43/month you provide them with:
- Medical care.
- Education.
- Food.
- The love of Jesus.
- The Gospel.
In Scripture, we find Jesus as our living HOPE, urging us to share our light with those around us, to radiate this HOPE to the world.
As stated in Matthew 5:14-16:
"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
