CHRIST-CENTERED
We commit to honor Jesus Christ in all that we do.
Jesus is the core of our ministry and his life and teachings shape our programs.
We commit to giving every child in our program a chance to learn about Jesus, respond to the gospel, and develop a lifelong relationship with God.
We take our role as stewards of resources very seriously. We will only using money for the purpose for which it was raised. Child sponsorship funds must be used to develop the child who is sponsored. We will regularly perform program audits to ensure our programs are well managed and funds are properly disbursed and applied, and we will balance low administrative and fundraising costs with high-quality programs.
CHURCH-DRIVEN
We commit to work in partnership with the local church.
We do all of our work through partnerships with thousands of local churches around the world. We work in partnership with local churches because we desire to equip the Church to fulfill its role as salt and light to the world.
CHILD-FOCUSED
We commit to holistic child development — developing minds, bodies and spirits.
All of our child development programs provide opportunities that encourage healthy development in four areas — spiritual, physical, social and economic.
We commit to directly impact each child's individual development.
Our local church partners tailor our holistic child development model to the contextualized needs of the children in their communities to best deliver the whole-life care that the children they serve most need.
We commit to protecting the children in our programs from all forms of abuse and exploitation, to intervene quickly and to seek restoration and healing for children affected by abuse.
Our approach to child protection is based on several strongly held convictions: no violence against children is justifiable, all violence against children is preventable, and it's everyone’s job to protect children.
We commit to linking each child to only one sponsor at a time.
We believe the most effective way to release children from poverty is through a one-to-one relationship between a sponsor and a child.
Poverty makes children especially vulnerable to disease, malnutrition, water-borne illnesses, exploitation and trafficking. It limits access to education and healthcare and worse it keeps them from opportunities to do anything about it.
